Banana Bread

Banana Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups (225g) Plain Flour
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) Oil (your choice of oil, vegetable, canola, sunflower or olive oil can be used)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 4 ripe Bananas, mashed
  • 65g pecan nuts or walnuts (nuts are optional)

Method

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease and line the base of a 900ml loaf pan.

Sift flour, baking powder, cinnamon and sugar with 1 teaspoon salt into bowl. Combine the egg, oil and vanilla in a separate bowl. Add to the dry ingredients with banana and nuts and fold until just combined.

Place into the loaf pan and bak for 50 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool for 10 minutes. Cut in thick slices and serve with butter and honey.
